Statement of Faith

Church in Morocco

At Church in Morocco, our faith is rooted in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. We believe the Christian faith is not only a set of truths to be confessed, but also a life to be lived in love, holiness, humility, and hope. As a ministry serving in Morocco, we desire to be faithful to the Gospel, grounded in Scripture, and full of grace toward all people.

Below is a summary of the beliefs that guide our teaching, worship, ministry, and life together.

1. We believe in one God

We believe there is one true and living God, eternal and unchanging, the Creator of heaven and earth. He is holy, wise, just, loving, and worthy of all worship. God has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit three persons, yet one God.

We do not worship a distant God, but the living God who sees, speaks, saves, and draws near to His people.

2. We believe the Bible is the Word of God

We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God. The Bible is trustworthy, true, and sufficient for teaching us who God is, who we are, and how we are to live.

The Scriptures are our final authority in matters of faith and practice. We seek to read them carefully, obey them sincerely, and teach them faithfully.

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He came into the world in humility, was born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, taught with truth and compassion, performed mighty works, and revealed the heart of the Father.

We believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, not because He had done wrong, but because we had. In His death, He bore the judgment we deserved. In His resurrection, He triumphed over sin, death, and the grave.

We believe He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again in glory. He alone is the Savior of the world and the only mediator between God and humanity.

4. We believe all people are created by God and in need of salvation

We believe that every human being is created in the image of God and therefore has dignity, value, and worth. For this reason, every person should be treated with respect, compassion, and love.

At the same time, we believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin affects the human heart, mind, will, and relationships. Left to ourselves, we cannot save ourselves or make ourselves right with God.

This is why the good news of Jesus Christ is so precious: God has made a way of salvation by His grace.

5. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ

We believe that salvation is the gift of God. It cannot be earned by good works, religious effort, or personal merit. We are forgiven, made right with God, and given new life only through faith in Jesus Christ.

To repent is to turn from sin and turn toward God. To believe is to trust in Christ alone for mercy, forgiveness, and eternal life.

Those who belong to Christ are adopted into the family of God, cleansed from sin, and made new by His grace.

6. We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and is active in the world and in the Church. He convicts of sin, opens hearts to the truth, gives new birth, and helps believers grow in holiness.

The Holy Spirit strengthens us to pray, understand Scripture, resist sin, bear witness to Christ, and live in a way that honors God. He produces in believers the fruit of a transformed life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

We depend on the Spirit not only for ministry, but for daily life as followers of Jesus.

7. We believe the Church is the body of Christ

We believe that all who truly trust in Jesus Christ belong to His Church. The Church is not merely a building or an institution; it is the people of God, called out from the world to worship Him, love one another, and bear witness to the Gospel.

The local church is a community of believers devoted to prayer, worship, the teaching of Scripture, fellowship, service, and mission. We believe the Church should reflect the character of Christ in humility, truth, mercy, purity, and love.

As a ministry in Morocco, we desire to be a faithful Christian presence—living peacefully, serving sincerely, and shining the light of Christ with wisdom and grace.

8. We believe in baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are gifts given by Christ to His Church.

Baptism is a public expression of faith in Jesus Christ. It does not save us, but it testifies that we belong to Christ and have been made new by Him.

The Lord’s Supper is a holy remembrance of the death of Christ on our behalf. As we share the bread and cup, we remember His sacrifice, give thanks for His grace, and proclaim His death until He comes.

9. We believe the Christian life is a life of discipleship

We believe that to follow Jesus is to walk in repentance, faith, obedience, and love. The Christian life is not about outward religion alone, but about inward transformation by the grace of God.

We believe believers are called to:

  • love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength
  • love their neighbor with sincerity
  • pursue holiness and truth
  • care for the poor and those in need
  • forgive as they have been forgiven
  • live with integrity, humility, and compassion
  • bear witness to Christ in word and deed

We do not claim perfection, but we do believe that God is at work in His people, shaping them more and more into the likeness of Christ.

10. We believe in the mission of the Gospel

We believe the Gospel is good news for all people. Jesus Christ is not the Savior of one nation only, but of all who believe. The Church is called to proclaim this message with courage, humility, wisdom, and love.

As a Moroccan ministry, we desire to serve faithfully in our local context. We seek to honor Christ in the way we speak, live, and love. We believe Christian witness should be marked not by pride or hostility, but by truth, gentleness, prayer, and sacrificial love.

We want our ministry to reflect the heart of Jesus—full of grace and truth.

11. We believe Christ will return

We believe that Jesus Christ will come again. His return will be personal, visible, and glorious. He will judge the world in righteousness, bring all things to their proper end, and establish the fullness of His kingdom.

This hope gives us courage in hardship, patience in suffering, and faithfulness in the present. We look forward not with fear, but with hope, because our future is in the hands of the risen Christ.

12. We believe in eternal life

We believe that those who trust in Christ receive eternal life. This life begins now in fellowship with God and will be fulfilled in His presence forever.

We believe that God’s final victory will be complete: sin will be judged, death will be defeated, and God’s people will dwell with Him in joy, peace, and righteousness.

This is our hope—not in ourselves, but in the mercy and promise of God.

Our Prayer

Our prayer is that this ministry would remain faithful to Jesus Christ, rooted in the Scriptures, and filled with the love of God. We desire to serve with humility, speak with truth, welcome with grace, and live in a way that honors the name of Christ in Morocco and beyond.

May everything we do point people not to ourselves, but to the Lord Jesus Christ.
